The mental health and emotional wellbeing of students is a growing priority across the education sector. As our understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people deepens, it becomes increasingly clear that there is no single approach that fits all. Schools are now being called upon not only to educate, but also to provide environments in which all students can feel safe, understood, and supported in their personal development.
Professional Mentorship and Guidance
I provide reflective, professional mentorship for staff working in educational settings who want to deepen their understanding of student mental health and wellbeing. This includes those in both pastoral and therapeutic roles, as well as educators and support staff who are engaging with students on a daily basis.
These sessions offer a safe and supportive space to explore how mental health challenges can impact learning, behaviour, and emotional development—often in ways that are subtle or easily overlooked.
Specialist Insight into Neurodiversity
In addition to broad experience across education and mental health, I bring a particular specialism in supporting neurodivergent children and young people. My work helps staff to understand how differences in executive functioning, sensory processing, and social communication can shape a young person’s experience of school and life more broadly.
This specialist insight is particularly relevant in today’s mainstream classrooms, where increasing numbers of neurodivergent students are seeking understanding, flexibility, and meaningful support.
